How do I contribute to the Hubble
Space Telescope mission?
I coordinate the promotion and distribution of informal science education products for the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI), especially the ViewSpace multi-media exhibit program for museums, planetariums, libraries, etc. I also manage the entire exhibit program for STScI for public displays and for astronomical, museum, and planetarium conferences.
What or who inspired me to really go after the profession I am in now?
My inspiration came from all the men in my local amateur astronomy club who taught me, as the first woman in the club, how to learn to observe the night sky.
What I like about my job:
Everything!! I've been an amateur astronomer for many years. My professional background is in exhibiting, event planning, and promotions, so all my skills are being used "to the max." I can't imagine doing anything else!
What school subjects do I use at work?
Math, all the sciences, English, geography, and public speaking.

How do I contribute to the Hubble

I develop and maintain web sites that tell the world about what Hubble does.
What or who inspired me to really go after the
profession I am in now?
My inspirations were my mentor in the astronomy department in college, and Carl Sagan, a noted scientist who popularized the field of astronomy.
What I like about my job:
I have always loved astronomy, so it is wonderful that I get to work with one of the greatest telescopes ever built, and I get to tell everyone about it! I like helping co-workers do the best they can, and I explore what is new on the web. I also enjoy flexible working hours, vacation, and working with people who are very passionate about their own jobs.
What school subjects do I use at work?
Math, English, and physics.
