Welcome to the Hubble Academy! I'm Professor WifPic and I'll be leading the
Hubble Deep Field Team on its quest to explore the farthest reaches of
the known universe.
I'm very pleased to welcome you—the first class of the Academy—to
this very important mission briefing. Our mission is to explore the galaxies
of the Hubble Deep Field and fulfill one of humankind's long-time goals of seeing
as far as possible into the universe in an attempt to understand our origins.
Now, we're all set to view a brief slide show, which provides an overview of
the Hubble Space Telescope and the Hubble Deep Field image. Before we begin,
let me introduce myself.
