The paths of X-rays through the Chandra X-ray Observatory

X-rays are hard to observe. Because they have so much energy, X-rays aimed directly at a
conventional telescope mirror will penetrate it, instead of bouncing off. Chandra’s mirrors
have to be placed at just the right angle in order for X-rays to glance off their surfaces.
