The Leviathan of Parsonstown, a 72-inch telescope built in 1845 by William Parsons, the Third Earl of Rosse, on his estate, Birr Castle, at Parsonstown in Ireland. It was the largest telescope in the world until the construction of the 100-inch Hooker Telescope at Mount Wilson Observatory in 1917.
