Fast Facts: Mars’ moon, Phobos can be used with the tables listing the characteristics of the eight planets to: Recognize and order large numbers. Have students arrange the Sun, moons, and planets from least to most massive or from smallest to largest in diameter. Calculate the gravitational force between Mars and Phobos. Use Newton's law of gravitation, the distance between Phobos and Mars, and the masses of the two objects to determine the gravitational force between them (recommended for grades 10-12).
